Design Challenge
Team Chemomatic seeks to design an automatic syringe pump capable of delivering various drugs administered to cardiac arrest patients. The first application of this device will be in Fiji where the World Health Organization has declared a pandemic for cardiovascular disease. We are working with Dr. Malya and Dr. Noland of the UT Global Health Division.
We hope to eventually use our syringe pump to deliver a wider variety of treatments in the developing world including chemotherapy treatments.

Note the name 'chemomatic' was based on a prior scope of our project that has since changed.
Design Summary
The goal of the AutoSyP is to deliver various intravenous drug regimens to patients in the developing world. To do this we use a constant force spring driven power system and a timing system connected to microcontroller regulated ratchet and pawl setup. We completed the first full version of the AutoSyP and are ready for preliminary clinical tests. The AutoSyP (V3) is capable of flow rates accurate within 3%, can operate on battery for 12 hours, and has an expected manufacturing cost of less than 250 dollars. Updated April 30 2013
