Design Challenge
RSC will be competing in the 2015 Shell Eco-marathon in the UrbanConcept Battery-Electric division. The design project focuses on the design and fabrication of an energy efficient UrbanConcept car that seats one driver and has many similar features to a street-legal car. Our team's goal is to qualify to compete in the Shell Eco-marathon and construct the most lightweight and energy efficient vehicle possible.
Design Summary
Our team is divided into four parts: Mechanical, Body and Chassis, Electrical, and Operations. The mechanical team designs components such as the steering, braking, and suspension system of the car, the body and chassis team deals with the design of an aerodynamic body and structural chassis, the electrical team designs our motor controller and auxiliary electrical systems, and the operations team deals with administrative tasks.
