Design Challenge
Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a heart condition where the atria contract irregularly, allowing blood to stagnate and form clots in the left atrial appendage (LAA). Our design challenge is to design an intra-cardiac device that detects clot formation in the LAA so patients with AF can be administered blood thinners to prevent embolic stroke.
