Project Title
Needle Prick First Aid Device
Design Challenge
Our team aims to create a first aid solution that will improve outcomes of needle stick incidents. An estimated 5.6 million healthcare workers are at risk of contracting a bloodborne disease such as HIV or hepatitis B through needle stick injuries. The current treatment for needle pricks is to wash the injury with soap and water. Our device will improve upon this standard of care to decrease the likelihood that a person with a needle prick will contract a bloodborne disease.
