Project Title
BrainGuide: An Automated Neurosurgical Planning Tool
Design Challenge
BrainGuide is an automation tool that plans electrode implantation surgeries for patients with non-treatable forms of epilepsy. This universal trajectory planning system reduces the preparation time for intracranial electrode insertion from hours to seconds by leveraging patient data in a scalable optimization model. The information gathered by BrainGuide then will be utilized in future procedures that ultimately remove the portion of the brain causing seizures.
