Project Title
Remediation and structural development of a Construction Company Headquarters brownfield site
Design Challenge
Challenges presented by this site include environmental concerns inherent in its designation as a brownfield site and stormwater runoff control needs related to its location in flood-prone area. The site also contains poor quality soil, solid waste dumping and limited access to roadways. In addition to the obstacles presented by the site itself, the specifications for this project require that the design achieve LEED Silver certification while still managing costs to an acceptable level.
Design Summary
The purpose of our project is to design a construction company headquarters for the lot located at 12895 Green's Bayou. The facility must include 25,000 square feet of office space, appropriate parking and facilities for the storage and maintenance of equipment. The site itself is slightly larger than five acres and located in a mixed residential and commercial area bordered on one side by Green's Bayou.
