Design Challenge
Design a LEED-certified 25,000 SF multi-level art museum and nature park at the corner of White Oak Drive and Houston Avenue, a brownfield site. The site is contaminated with lead and ethylbenzene, and has been used as an illegal dump. The brownfield must be remediated. A pedestrian bridge over Little White Oak Bayou to a 150-space parking lot shall be provided east of the stream beneath the I-45 freeway. The outdoor gallery is to present sculptures and natural garden-like atmosphere.
