Design Challenge
We are building a low power, easy to use system that can be combined with simple monitoring devices. This system will allow for medical professionals particularly in third world countries to remotely monitor patients. In third world countries medical staff often must rely on visual observation for monitoring and are often understaffed and lacking in resources. Utilizing the already created breathing monitor and algorithm developed by Team BreathAlert, our system can notify doctors or medical staff of an emergency situation via text or phone call. In leveraging both their sensor and Bluetooth 4.0 we can not only monitor various patients for medical emergencies but also compile this vital data for future reference.
