Domestically Produced Alternative Energy for Namibia
Design Challenge
Take advantage of the domestically produced natural gas in sub-Saharan Africa to produce necessary fuel while still protecting the fragile environment. Specifically, produce dimethyl ether (DME) to be used as an alternative fuel source for transportation, heating, cooling, etc. Additionally, employ a wind/solar farm to provide clean and sustainable energy for the process.
