Project Title
Training Putter to Provide Multisensory Real-Time Feedback to Golfer
Design Challenge
Design a putter that provides the golfer with real-time multisensory feedback during the putting stroke supporting making corrections during the putting stroke and training to achieve the optimal putting stroke.
Design Summary
JediPutter is currently able to capture, analyze, and manipulate raw sensor data to calculate and measure the angle of the face upon ball impact, tempo of the swing, path of the putter head, and gear effect to determine ball impact location on the putter face. This processed data is streamed to an Android tablet via Bluetooth. We also have created a hand milled aluminum putter head prototype, as well as designed a custom PCB for our product. JediPutter is water and shock resistant and fully mobile, powered by AA batteries. A USGA-certified putter with identical size and weight has been developed to allow prospective golfers an easy transition from training to tournament play.
