Design Challenge
A light-weight, portable, and reliable design solution which will accurately transfer, analyze and display captured motion path data from Cerebral Palsy patients and effectively store this captured data for progress tracking over time
Design Summary
A 20mm (diameter) x 50 mm (height) cylindrical peg will use a MPU 9150 integrated measurement unit to capture motion data in 9 axes and transmit the data wirelessly via a bluetooth module (BLE113) to a computer. The computer will analyze the data and visually output the data in a user-friendly, Python based GUI. The exam will use an apparatus we have designed to test a variety of motions as identified by the hospital to be critical in assessing motion quality.

The portable, low-cost and easy to use design will fundamentally change the way physicians assess improvement in cerebral palsy patients by bringing the power of an entire video capture and analysis room into a single peg.
