Prosthetic Sensory Feedback
Design Challenge
When working with artificial limbs, prosthetic users lack the ability to know and sense where their appendages are and exactly what is being done by it. Using NeoSensory's VEST our team aims to relay necessary tactile and positional information to the user. Our goals are to determine the appropriate proprioceptive metrics to sense along with the appropriate sensors and sensor placement. We must implement this system and develop algorithms that convert this information stream to a tactile mapping on the VEST. Upon doing this formulate a study to determine the efficacy of their system that uses participants who have lower-limb prosthesis.
