Design Challenge
How do we provide safe drinking water to everyone everywhere in the world? Specifically, the course focuses on answering the following questions in the context of the sustainable
provision of drinking water in low-resource regions:
• Is clean water our actual goal? Why do we aim to provide “clean” or “safe” water?
• What are we trying to remove from the water? What makes it “dirty” or “unsafe”?
• How do we remove the above from the water? How do we clean the water or make it safe?
• Why is it important to make water purification sustainable? What do we mean by that?
