Design Challenge
Our engineering team, Castaway, has been asked to design a new casting stand for the Hanger Clinic to aid in the process of creating a mold for prosthetic limbs. When being molded for a prosthetic, patients hold on to a stand in order to balance upright on their good leg for the duration of the casting process, but often have difficulty remaining erect for the duration of the process. This stand will assist patients in comfortably supporting themselves without interfering with the prosthetist casting the mold leading to more accurate prosthetic moldings and an improved patient experience.
