Project Title
Underground Water Detection
Design Challenge
This project aims to provide an early detection system for leaks in Rice University's water infrastructure. The current solution relies on Rice Facilities Engineering and Planning (FE&P) personnel to actively listen for abnormal water flow through storm sewers, and report such flow if it continues for multiple hours. We seek to automate this process by designing a device that can monitor sound from storm sewers on campus and alert FE&P personnel of potential leaks in water pipes.
