Digital Cure for Epilepsy
Design Challenge
Of the 3 million Americans who suffer from epilepsy over a third cannot be treated with medication. Our goal is to create an alternative treatment by developing an implantable neurostimulator that applies low-frequency stimulation to suppress seizures. In past years this Vertically Integrated Project team has developed a predictive machine learning algorithm that detects when a seizure is approaching. This year we will develop custom hardware to implement this algorithm in real time.
