Design Challenge
Hippotherapy is the inclusion of equine movement in medical treatment. Due to costs and risks of horseback riding, machines were created to mimic the physical experience, but there is a need for a low cost alternative that generates realistic motion. This can be used for patients who require the therapeutic motion of a horse, but cannot go to a ranch for financial, physical, or personal reasons. The challenge for current stage is to choose and connect 6 motors to meet a safety factor of 2 based on the extreme circumstances such as forces exerted on the edge of the device.
