Design Challenge
Municipal solid waste (MSW) landfills are a major source of greenhouse gases, specifically of methane and carbon dioxide. This design challenge aims to capture landfill gas emissions and use steam reforming to convert this gas to a synthesis gas. This synthesis gas will then be converted to the fuel dimethyl ether, a diesel alternative, via indirect synthesis.
