Design Challenge
SLA printers create a lot of resin waste, which is toxic to humans, infects groundwater, and ruins aquatic ecosystems when left uncured. Many companies, maker spaces, and hobbyists who use these printers do not have the means to appropriately dispose of or treat this waste, which our project aims to fix.

Our team has created a process to safely collect liquid resin waste from 3D printers and cure it into a disposable solid using a tabletop machine that emits UV light, thereby creating an in-house method of curing this resin waste and removing its toxic properties for easy disposal.
