Enrichment Device for Swamp Monkeys at the Houston Zoo
Design Challenge
The overall purpose for this design challenge is to create a product that ensures that the swamp monkeys at the Houston Zoo are constantly developing and improving their natural strength and mental abilities. Without enrichment opportunities, primates exhibit unnatural behavior such as rocking and pacing.Therefore, the design challenge is to to develop engaging, fun, and sturdy enrichment toy for one or more of the swamp monkeys in the Houston Zoo. The goal of this toy is to promote play, as well as enhance mental stimulation while still being safe for the primate to use.
